Montserrat has the distinction of being the only country outside of Ireland to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day as a national holiday, and the island of Montserrat comes alive with Caribbean flair for the annual event. Showcasing the unique mix of Irish and African heritage, the week-long festival will take place from March 13 – 20, 2010 at various locations throughout the island. Key events include Freedom Run and Hike, Heritage Day Feast, St. Patrick’s Day Dinner, a Junior Calypso Competition, a Pub Crawl Marathon and performances by the Martin Healy band from Ireland.
