Drivers may have been wondering about the heavy equipment in the Carr’s Bay area this week. The Fisheries Division in the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Trade, Housing, Trade and the Environment is managing the removal of the sediment which has built up in the channel from the frequent rain showers.
It was felt that if the channel was not cleared it could lead to flooding in the area, which has been known to occur following heavy rains and high seas.
