According to the official Chevening website “Every year on 8 March women from all walks of life are celebrated on International Women’s Day. It is a day where their achievements, and the contribution they make to society, are recognised and lauded. The theme for 2015 is ‘make it happen’ and Chevening is using this as an opportunity to showcase some of its alumnae who are the personification of that theme.
