Athletes Return with Medals from Antigua Track Meet

BRADES – Montserrat athletes returned to island with six medals from the 7th Annual Sir Reginald Samuel Track & Field Classic, which took place on May 2, 3, 2015 on Antigua.

Head coach of the Montserrat Track Alliance Wilston “Scotty” Scotland said he wanted to see the teams level when compared to other athletes in their age category. Scotland said he was pleased with their showing and how they matched up to the other competitors.

Participating athletes were: Sydney Mendes, Jahmarie Lee, Deshawn Wilkins, Tiffany Weekes, Jennalyn Weekes, AJ Lee, and senior athletes, Lester Ryan and Arlen Skerritt.

Jahmarie Lee brought home silver medals in the Under 15 100M and 200M races. Deshawn Wilkins added another silver for Under 15 in 400M along with Jennalyn Weekes for the Under 18 girls in the 400M.

Bringing home the only gold was Arlen Skerritt for the open long jump. Tiffany Weekes won a bronze for the Under 15 200M race.
