ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – Can’t Stop the Bear and Sing a Different Song took Montserrat’s reigning calypso monarch to the winners’ stage in Antigua on Sunday night.

Keithroy “De Bear” Morson recaptured the crown he lost in 2013, following a three-year run as the Antiguan calypso king.

Following the win he said via Facebook: “Let me say thank you to all my fans across the world, we did it. I enjoyed my self, and I thank you for your support. I can’t win them all, but when I win I win for all of you.”

De Bear won the Montserrat calypso crown last December and was expected to represent the island at the upcoming Leeward Island Calypso Monarch competition in Anguilla. With this win, he now has the choice to represent either island there.

He has previously won the Anguilla competition in 2012.

The final results from Antigua are as follows:

Most Improved Calypsonian – Lady Raw (Barbuda)

Most Humorous Calypsonian – Lord Determine

Best Social Commentary –  Dr. Principal

Second Runner Up – King Fiyah

First Runner Up – Queen Thalia

Winner – King Bear
