Statistics Department Montserrat (SDM) on Thursday released the 2015 tourism figures for the island.
The comprehensive report compared data from 2014 to 2015.
Total visitor arrivals in 2014 was 10,737 compared to 13,275 in 2015.
There were 8,944 tourists in 2015, 140 more than 2014.
Travellers from the OECS made up the majority with 2856, 2713 from the USA and 2705 from the UK. OECS nationals made the most day trips with 626, compared to 387 from the USA and 316 from the UK.
There were 2591 cruise passengers last year, compared to only 184 in 2014. The number of calls by yachts also increased from 368 to 474. There were 1815 passengers and crew which disembarked at Little Bay in 2015.
Most travellers and tourists were between the ages of 50 – 64. The second highest age group were the 40 – 49s.
