A local poet and director of the Montserrat Arts Council has been published in an international poetry publication.
Cordite Poetry Review, an Australian and international journal of poetry review and criticism and print books as published Chadd Cumberbatch’s Norene’s Laugh, a tribute to his neighbour and friend Norene Brade.
Cumberbatch first performed the poem last August at the Montserrat Music Foundation’s summer concert to good reviews.
The poem is one of a 23 new poems from Caribbean authors selected by St Lucian author Vladimir Lucien.
Norene’s laugh
echoes through my window
on a Saturday morning
reaching every room
filling them with sunshine
