Glass, textiles, wood and photography are the mediums featured in the third annual MAC4 exhibition, which opened Monday at the Montserrat National Trust in Salem.
MAC4 is organised by the Montserrat Arts Council and has become an anticipated event to showcase the work of residents and the Montserratian Diaspora.
The four featured artists are wood and mixed-media artist Kirk Brade, textile designer Susan Edgecombe, glass designer Thanendran Singarajah and photographer Valbaun Galloway.
Sarita Francis, Director of the national trust, said it was a pleasure to team up with the MAC as they share a common objective of promoting Montserrat’s culture and heritage.
Hon. Parliamentary Secretary Gregory Willock congratulated the team for another exhibition. He added that he was committed to strengthening the arts council in order to expand its ability to support the arts and culture on island. Willock also noted that Montserrat has changed and it was important that all aspects of culture today, which will include those brought from other nations should be embraced.
The exhibition is free of cost and runs Monday to Friday 9AM to 4PM until January 8 at the national trust on Salem main road.
