ZJB Radio is reporting that the A & F Gas Station in Sweeney’s will resume operations on Saturday.
The station abruptly closed more than a week ago, which resulted in long lines at the Osborne’s Gas Station in St. Peters.
Owners at the island’s oldest station have been in talks with the fuel supplier Deltra Petroleum and the Government of Montserrat to reach a resolution.
The closure is said to stem “from years of financial troubles. The company’s management released a statement to the public on Thursday stating that its operations had been placed in a vulnerable position hence the closure,” the ZJB read.
John Osborne said recently in a Facebook post that the profit margins on the fuel business was small and that is why his station uses a self-service approach to cut costs.
