Sharlene Lindsay - Entertainer

Sharlene Lindsay – Entertainer

Sharlene Lindsay is a multi-talented entertainer and television presenter who is passionate about celebrating the best of life in the Caribbean.

The mother of one, hails from Trinidad & Tobago but has made Montserrat her home; where she is an active participant in promoting culture through her work as the Cultural Officer for the Montserrat Arts Council.

Sharlene plays an integral role in the planning, promotion and execution of the island’s annual festivals and social events. She is also an advocate for increasing cultural programmes in all local schools.

Never one to stay behind the scenes, Sharlene is a former queen pageant contestant both in Montserrat and in the UK. Also a talented singer and songwriter, she took home Montserrat’s Groovy Soca Monarch crown in 2010.

With a heart for carnival reflective of her homeland, she founded Montserrat’s largest all-inclusive troupe, Island Diva Mas in 2010. This troupe often dominates the parades with its colour, flair and energy.

Sharlene has become a much sort after MC for local competitions and pageants and was the TV presenter for the Live Streamed Backstage All Access Show for Montserrat’s 50th Anniversary Festival.

The former Director of Information & Communications for the Government of Montserrat was the executive producer for Road to 50, a live production showcasing the attractions and events for the 50th Annual Montserrat Festival in 2012. The festival shows, which were lived streamed on a pay-per-view platform for the first time, generated thousands of dollars in revenue for the festival committee and the show promoters.

Golden is an avid film buff, who produced and starred in her first short film Choices in 2011, through a grant from the Caribbean Media Partnership on HIV/AIDS (CBMP). She is the recipient of a Caribbean Innovators Award for her work in media and community advocacy and is an Associate Producer for The Skin, a 2011 thriller from HAMAFilms Antigua.

Through her company Goldenmedia, she provides marketing and publicity services for clients across a range of industries including tourism, technology and entertainment.
