There is a new junior calypso monarch. Calypso Vedz beat out nine other singers to capture the crown on Sunday, March 13 at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.
Hosted by the Montserrat Union of Teachers, the show brought in a good crowd to support the young entertainers.
Making the top three were last year’s monarch Keon “Dragon K” Christopher in third place, Javaughn “V-Tech” Fenton and first Veron “Calypso Vedz” Duberry.
Backed up by the Small Beginnings Band, Calypso Vedz sang Cultural Diversity, V-Tech sang Culture is Dynamic and Dragon K sang Sweet Caribbean Music.
