The Governor’s Office staff on Monday, April 18 donated their festival winnings to six early childhood centres on island.
Last December, the office, headed by Her Excellency the Governor Elizabeth Carriere entered the festival parade with their troupe called G-Force, which placed second in the adult category on Festival Day.
The staff agreed to split up their prize money to the six public centres.
Representatives of each of the government nursery schools and day care centres accepted the cheques. The schools plan to use the money to improve classroom esthetics and/or with school excursions.
Governor Carriere spent time learning about the various challenges and activities happening with the schools, which take care of children five and under.
