Preparations have already begun for the second MAC4 Exhibition this December and local real firm Tradewinds Real Estate has signed on the be a major sponsor.
Montserrat Arts Council will again host MAC4: “An Art Exhibition” in December 2016. This will be the event’s second year, having had its inaugural opening December 2015. Tradewinds Real Estate was a major sponsor of MAC4 last year, which featured the work of four (4) Montserratian artists and received great reviews. For MAC4 2016, Tradewinds Real Estate is contributing much needed financial support to the event.
Manager of Tradewinds Real Estate, Mrs. Susan MacLeod Edgecombe, remarked “As a former Special Ed. and Art teacher, I firmly believe that providing opportunities for creativity at all academic levels fosters self-confidence. An artist plans, calculates, compares, dreams, experiments, and has failures as well as successes. It is all part of the journey into that special place where imagination and technique come together and are serendipitous. I am really pleased to again partner with the Montserrat Arts Council for the Festival 2016 art exhibition, and particularly happy that it will include pieces by the school children and MSS students. I look forward to a wonderful display of the many talented artists of all ages.”
One of the Montserrat Arts Council’s aims is to stimulate creativity and foster an appreciation for the Visual Arts especially in youths. This year, alongside the 4 featured adult artists, young artists will be included in the exhibition. Pieces from four (4) students from each school on island will be on display. MAC4 will open on December 5 th and run until the end Festival 2016.
