Interim leader of the Movement for Change and Prosperity (MCAP), Hon. Opposition Member Easton Taylor-Farrell announced Friday, that Samuel Joseph PhD has been nominated to run for the seat left vacant by former MCAP leader Reuben T. Meade.
In a paid political announcement on ZJB Radio Montserrat, Taylor gave tribute to the former leader who he said had left his mark not only on the party but on the island he served faithfully for more than 25 years. He added that the party is undergoing a transition and within the ranks are competent people who will continue the vision which the former premier had established.
The interim head said three people had been short listed to be the MCAP selection to run in the by-election. One declined the offer to be considered while the other two, agreed to support whomever was the eventual winner. Taylor explained that the select committee voted and Dr. Samuel Joseph was the winner and he has agreed to accept the nomination.
