Seven of the top spots in this year’s creative writing competition sponsored by the Montserrat Volcano Observatory (MVO) went to students from the St. Augustine Primary School.
This year’s competition was themed “An Experience to Remember.” For the first time the activity was opened to adults.
The essays covered a range of memories including swimming with dolphins, fleeing a volcanic eruption, dealing with the death of a girlfriend and making a life changing decision.
On Saturday afternoon, parents and well wishers gathered at the Montserrat Cultural Centre to hear the winning essays.
