BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) has sent is condolences to the people of Montserrat and the family on the loss of Alphonsus “Arrow” Cassell MBE.
In a published statement, the CTO said “it is with profound shock and sadness that we at the Caribbean Tourism Organization learned of the passing of Alphonsus “Arrow” Cassell, an icon of the entertainment industry throughout the world.
“Like the rest of the Caribbean, we mourn the loss of a leader, a visionary, a trailblazer and a Caribbean ambassador. Arrow’s signature song “Hot, Hot, Hot” will live forever as one of his lasting contributions to Montserrat and the Caribbean; it is the anthem of fun loving people everywhere.
“There was never any doubt that Arrow was proud to be Montserratian and Caribbean. There was never any question about his support for the Caribbean Tourism Organization and our ideals. He was always willing to assist whenever we called upon him and we will forever remember his last public appearance for us when he rocked to life the CTO’s Caribbean Street Party at World Travel Market in London a few short years ago with his customary high energy performance. Arrow will be sorely missed. But his memory will live on.
“To his family and loved ones we offer our prayers and condolences,” the statement ends.
