LITTLE BAY – A special cultural programme is being prepared for the visit of more than 400 visitors from the French Caribbean today.
Due to heavy swells in Little Bay, the high-speed catamaran is expected to dock at Port Plymouth at about 9:15AM. Although a tour of the abandoned town was not on the days itinerary, the guests will be able to get a few picture worthy views to see the devastation.
Starting at about 2PM at the Cultural Center, vendors will have snacks and souvenirs on sale. String Band music is scheduled to begin at 3, followed by the Montserrat Masquerade at 3:30. A treat will be the Masquerades from Martinique who are expected to lead a street parade down to Little Bay from 4PM.
Tickets for snacks will be $10 and those wishing a full meal and to enjoy the festivities can pay $50.
All proceeds go to support the upcoming Alliouagana Festival of the Word and Le Circle Francais.
