BRADES – A total of 596 temporary licenses have already been granted by the Royal Montserrat Police Service so far in 2015.
According to the April report from the RMPS, the department has generated EC$29,000 in revenue from the sale of the licenses.
March 2015 saw the highest number with 214 licenses. This coincides with the annual St. Patrick’s Festival which has been growing in popularity.
There were 131 temporary licenses sold in January, 140 in February and 111 for April.
Visitors to the island who already hold a legal drivers license from another country can purchase the permit which allows them to drive here. The licenses can be purchased at the Little Bay Port, the John A. Osborne Airport and both the Salem and Brades police stations. Each permit costs EC$50.
