Caribbean Week is one of the most talked about annual events for Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) in New York. This year Miss Montserrat, Sharissa Ryan was a guest speaker and performer at the Student Colloquium event themed “Students Taking Centre Stage: A forum for Rising Stars in Caribbean Tourism”. She addressed student teams from the College of the Bahamas, Monroe College in New York, Jamaica’s University of Technology and the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College as they challenged each other on sustainable tourism issues. The students also listened to a motivational speech from Denis Walcott the former New York City education chancellor who served from 2011 to 2013. Turks and Caicos Islands Community College claimed the title with their presentation on the Lion Fish.
