BRADES – Three local contractors have signed agreements to complete works on the Barzey’s Main Road.
The project funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) through the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) has a value of EC$900,000.
Winning the contracts are: Ryan Investments who will handle Road Section 1 and 5; L & L Construction (Lovey Silcott) with Road Section 4, while Junction Trucking Limited, will be responsible for Road Section 2, 3 & 6.

Prior to contract signing, Discover Montserrat learned that several small contractors were concerned about the high cost to acquire the project documents as well as their exclusion from the process due to the requirements for security and prior project performance reports.
The Basic Need Trust Fund is a regional poverty alleviation program funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Local BNTF representative Mervin Browne will manage the project which has $646,252.70 from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) EC$51,740.30 from the Government of Montserrat.
The road project began officially on July 8th, 2015 and residents and drivers should exercise caution as the work progresses.
