BRADES – The Ministry of Communications and Works have announced special ferry times to accommodate residents who wish to travel to festival events on neighbouring islands.
As August Monday is the final Bank Holiday until Christmas it is usually a popular travel weekend and also the carnivals on Nevis and Antigua have some of their biggest events.
According to Access Coordinator David “Trixie” Duberry the ferry service will be altered to accommodate fans who wish to support Miss Montserrat Sharissa Ryan who is competing on Monday evening in the Miss Caribbean Culture Pageant on Nevis.
Reigning Calypso Monarch Keithroy ‘DeBear’ Morson competes in the Antigua & Barbuda Calypso Finals on Sunday night at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
The ferry schedule is as follows:
Normal times on Friday and Saturday
Service to Nevis – Leaves Montserrat on Monday morning August 3rd at 8am. Returns Tuesday morning at 3am – Cost is EC$300 roundtrip.
Service to Antigua – Leaves Montserrat on Sunday, August 2 at 7am. Returns from Antigua at 7pm Sunday evening.
Service to Antigua – Leaves Montserrat Tuesday morning at 7am and returns from Antigua at 9:30am.
No Monday route to Antigua.
