Montserrat's Opposition Leader Chairing OECS Meeting on Free Movement

BAY GARDENS, St. Lucia – Montserrat’s Opposition Leader the Honourable Reuben T. Meade chaired the second meeting of the OECS Parliamentary Opposition Leaders in St. Lucia on Wednesday, September 17, 2015.

Among matters discussed were the OECS Economic Union, The Free Movement of People, The Free Circulation of Goods,  and the OECS’ Growth and Development Strategy as well as the accession of Martinique to Associate Membership.

The former premier of Montserrat led discussions on Climate Change and Assistance to storm ravaged Dominica.

In attendance were Opposition Leaders from Dominica, British Virgin Islands, Antigua & Barbuda and St. Lucia.

It said it hopes that the meeting would “strengthen the capacity of Leaders of Parliamentary Opposition to share vital information on the regional integration movement with their constituents”.
