BRADES – It’s been one year since Montserrat won the Leeward Island Debating Competition in fine form and now it is time for them to defend the title.
Starting Thursday, February 26 on St. Kitts, the team will watch their counterparts present moots on “The CARICOM’s region’s failure to legalise marijuana is a colossal mistake”; “There should be a stricter media censorship in Caribbean society”; and Discriminatory screening practices are necessary to reduce spread of viruses new to the Caribbean region”.
Montserrat will take on the winners of Moot 1 on Saturday evening with “The advance effects of citizenship by investment programmes outweigh the economic advantages.”
Competing this year for Montserrat are: Sharese Allen, Vanice Tuitt, Chekwube Okereke, Dwaynifia Joseph, Darenthea Sweeney, and Asneil Jeffers.
