The Montserrat Progressive Society of New York (MPSNYC) is now accepting scholarship applications for study at the Montserrat Community College.
The society, which is more than 100 years old, offers an annual scholarship to the local college for students currently enrolled or planning to attend in the new school year, through their Montserrat Development and Education Foundation.
The application, which can be downloaded below should be accompanied by a copy of the student’s most recent transcript with CSEC grades, three letters of recommendation (Two from school officials, and one from a community leader, religious representative or employer); and a 500 word autobiographical statement that includes your future career objectives. The statement must be typed double-spaced on plain standard size.
Scholarships will be given for the September 2019 school year. Applications are due by April 15, 2019.

The successful applicant will be acknowledged with a photo and short bio on the society’s social media and website on in the May edition of their Souvenir journal.
The MPS NY also offers a scholarship to Caribbean-American students in the United States.
