Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 of the St. Augustine Roman Catholic School showed off their reading and public speaking abilities on Sunday afternoon at the Brades Arts & Education Centre.
Hosted by Kamille Winspeare, the students made presentations on various character traits which they have been learning through out the school year.
To a packed house, the kindergarten students Caryn Layne, Jose Edgecomne and Keauna Rodney each read eloquently.
Throughout the evening there were performances by the Glee Club, an interpretive dance by Grade four students and short readings by Juanika Morris and Standord Jarrett. Past students Maria Figueroa and Carlisle Vyphus shared memories of going to the schools and the values they learned there.
Her Excellency the Governor Elizabeth Carriere was on hand to present the prizes to the winners. She commended the school for organising the event, adding how impressed she was at the students’ ability to express themselves.
Students in the upper levels of grade five and six were required to do their own research and put together their presentation.
