The OECS Competitive Business Unit (CBU) will be hosting training sessions this Thursday and Friday on crowdfunding.
The sessions are scheduled to be held from 9AM to 1PM and 5PM to 9PM at the Montserrat Cultural Centre.
Facilitating will be Marlon Marie and Donna Jno. Baptiste-Athanaze of the CBU in Dominica.
In January 2016, the unit made a call for young entrepreneurs from various sectors in the OECS to indicate their interest in Crowdfunding training. As part of the CBU’s youth driven approach, it was proposed that a series of nineteen one-day training workshops for young entrepreneurs to be conducted in the all of the OECS territories during the months of February to April 2016 to share information on the dynamics of raising funds through innovative online platforms, Crowdfunding.
These workshops will assists the OECS Commission through the Competitive Business Unit (CBU) to empower the young entrepreneurs who could assist themselves in raising much needed capital through innovative means in turn, promoting economic growth of the young entrepreneurs in the region. This activity is being funded under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF), Economic Integration and Trade of the OECS Region programme.
Already sessions have been held in Dominica, Nevis, St. Kitts, the BVI, Anguilla, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, and Grenada.
Youth (particularly those engaged in business projects or developing projects, ideas and those studying Business, in the Creative Sector, Tourism Sector, Agriculture & Manufacturing Sector and ICT related subjects at the various tertiary level institutions are encouraged to attend.
