It is Junior Calypso monarch season and young calypsonians are needed to compete in this year’s show slated as part of St. Patrick’s Festival Week.
According to the Montserrat Union of Teachers, which organises the competition, the show is scheduled for Sunday 12th March 2017 at Salem Park commencing at 8 p.m. under the theme “My Identity”.
All participants will deliver two original songs. The first song will be based on the theme and the other song participants will be allowed to sing on a topic of their choice.
Registration for the competition is now open. All students of Primary and Secondary School age are invited to participate. Students are asked to submit their name to their schools’ office if they wish to be registered or any member of the Montserrat Union of Teachers’ Executive.
