BRADES, Montserrat – Homegrown airline Fly Montserrat has announced additional flights for the Christmas and festival season, while a new ferry service is expected to begin operation on Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
Access Coordinator Vincent Hippolyte announced on Monday that a 127 passenger capacity ferry will provide services between Montserrat and Antigua on “Wednesday and Saturday December 8 and 11, 2010 respectively. These services will originate in Montserrat departing at 7:00 a.m. for Antigua. They return departing Antigua’s Deep Water Harbour at 5:30 p.m. for Montserrat.”
Hippolyte added that “strong efforts are continuing with the operators of the service for confirmation of ongoing services thereafter, for the entire Christmas season. It is expected that early in the course of this week the operators” will confirm their availability and the public will be kept informed of the additional service days and times.
The Government of Montserrat has also arranged with Montserrat Airways Limited (FlyMontserrat) to increase its daily service effective Wednesday December 8 – 25, 2010 on the days when it is necessary to do so, in order to accommodate additional passenger traffic for the Christmas season.

The one way ferry fare is $150 for adults and EC$75 for children under 12 years.
