SALEM – Officers from various uniformed branches received medals during the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Parade on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Salem Park.
Receiving his second clasp, the Colonial Police Long Service Medal for 30 years of service, was Commissioner of Police Steve Foster.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Charles Thompson received his first clasp for 25 years of service. Also reaching that milestone were Inspector Albert Williams and Sergeant Ottley Laborde.
Both Sergeant Jessica Sweeney and Police Constable Kelvin White received medals for 18 years in the police service.
Senior Officer Vaughn Ryan was awarded the Overseas Territories Prison Service Medal for 18 years with Her Majesty’s Prison.
This year’s parade marked the 63rd year of reign of Her Majesty the Queen.
The Parade Commander was Captain Peter W. A. White who also received a Most Excellent Order of the British Empire Medal for his work.

The Parade Band was Genesys Steel Orchestra and the Drum Corps which added a new dimension to the short ceremony, putting modern songs to a marching beat.
First Aid support was provided by the Montserrat Red Cross.
