CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – Current Miss Montserrat Sharissa Ryan continued her winning ways on Monday, August 3, 2015, taking first runner-up position at the Miss Caribbean Culture Queen Pageant on Nevis.
The pageant, now in its 10th year is the part of the island’s annual culture festival called Culturama.
Fresh off her historic win at the Miss Jaycees Caribbean Pageant in Antigua, Miss Montserrat gave outstanding performances in the two-part competition.
She, along with other contestants made appearances around the island in the prelude to the big event. During the swimsuit show on Saturday evening, Miss Montserrat appeared in a one-piece white bathing suit and a teal-coloured two-piece.
She won the evening wear segment with the Black Diamonds gown and also copped the best talent segment with her violin performance, which was a combination of classical and current pop hits.
At the end of the five-hour show Miss Nevis Akiesha Fergus was crowned Miss Caribbean Culture Queen.
Under the direction of the Office of the Premier, the Montserrat Arts Culture is facilitating a welcome back motorcade for Miss Sharissa Ryan on Tuesday afternoon, August 4. Miss Montserrat is scheduled to arrive at 5:15PM where she will be met by dignitaries. The public is invited to join the motorcade which will travel to Salem Village. Everyone is asked to where green to welcome home the team, which includes her chaperone Mrs Penny Maloney and her sister and manager Ms Coretta Ryan.
