VC Bird Airport – Passengers flying to Antigua with FlyMontserrat will benefit from the facilities on offer at the new Air Terminal at VC Bird International Airport from Monday 24th August.
The Airline was invited to the opening ceremony on Thursday evening and is looking forward to its passengers being able to use the new terminal next week.
Check- in and Flight Arrivals are at either end of the new terminal’s ground floor, in an air conditioned space, with an escalator to take passengers upstairs to the departure area.
Once airside, passengers will be able to make use of several restaurants and shops on the upper floor. There is also a First Class Lounge with balcony overlooking the sea.
All scheduled flights and FlyMontserrat charters will use the new Terminal with the old facility being closed to passengers.
The main check-in area has 46 check-in desks but no airline will have a designated desk so FlyMontserrat passengers should check the board on entering the terminal and look for the FlyMontserrat logo above the check-in desk and the flight number to make sure they are at the right desk.
FlyMontserrat will use the departure gate doorway for Gates 5-9, at the far right hand end of the upper floor for its departures. The Airline suggests that passengers might like to add a little extra time to their check-in time in order to familiarize themselves with the layout and allow for any unforeseen teething problems that might arise in the first week.
