BRADES – Reigning Miss Montserrat and Miss Caribbean Jaycees Queen Sharissa Ryan is currently in Trinidad & Tobago for the Miss Global International Pageant.
More than 20 women from across the globe including African and Asia are expected to compete in the pageant which is now in its 11th year.
The Miss Global International Pageant began in 2004 as Miss Commonwealth in Jamaica and was later changed to reflect the interest expressed by non-Commonwealth countries to compete. The week of activities includes a sashing ceremony and also a charity event to benefit a cause.
This is the third regional competition for Miss Montserrat since winning her crown last December. She has been using her time connecting with children through her Trailblazers reading club on island, as well promoting Montserrat at events in North America.
Following this competition, Sharissa is scheduled to be one of the Grand Marshals in Miami Carnival in October. In her role as Miss Caribbean Jaycees, she is to attend the JCI West Indies National Convention next month.
“I believe that by participating in events such as these; the opportunity to promote Montserrat in a much bigger market is important and of high value,” Miss Montserrat said.
The final pageant event happens on September 25, 2015.
