LITTLE BAY – The Ministry of Trade is coordinating this week’s meeting of CARICOM’s Caribbean Regional Organisation of Standards and Quality (CROSQ)which opened at the Montserrat Cultural Centre on Monday, September 21, 2015.
From Monday until Wednesday, the 4th Technical Implementation Group – Standardisation (TIG-S) is meeting to brainstorm on the adoption and implementation of CARICOM regional standards.
Starting Thursday, the Technical Management Committee will meet.
CROSQ is the regional centre for promoting efficiency and competitive production in goods and services, through the process of standardization and the verification of quality. In this regard, CROSQ aims to support international competitiveness for the enhancement of social and economic development of the region.
Attending the sessions are trade and standards officials from all of the CARICOM Members States and the Dominican Republic.
The meetings are funded through the 10th EDF-EPA Programme – Technical Barriers to Trade Component.
