All-rounder cricketer Zawandi White, has been selected to captain the Leeward Islands Under 19 Cricket Team to this year’s tournament.
Joining him on the team, will be Kriston Yearwood-Murrain (player) and Aidan Livan as a reserve. All three have been in Antigua since July 11 for a two-week trials camp in preparation for the competition, which is slated to run July 25 to August 18 in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Services extended its congratulations to the three athletes and also acknowledged the behind the scenes work of the Montserrat Cricket Association, Inc. for creating the opportunities for them.
Since last year’s hosting of the Under 15 and Under 19 Leeward Islands Cricket competitions, there has been a renewed interest in Montserratian athletes.
