BRADES, Montserrat – Miss Montserrat 2010 is Robekah Lindsey, a 20-year-old employee of Montserrat Utilities Ltd., who was also her sponsor.
Lindsey wowed a standing room only crowd at the Montserrat Cultural Centre on Sunday, December 26, 2010 beating out six other competitors for the title. She also received the prizes for top talent and the interview segments.
This competition was highly anticipated as there had been no pageant in festival 2009. The contestants vied for the title by competing in a public presentation segment on December 20th called Phenomenal Woman, and in the final show in talent, interview, bathing suit, and evening wear presentations.
The runners up were Jaynelle Buffong, 1st Runner Up; Zenique Leonard, 2nd Runner Up and 3rd Runner Up – Delmeza Riley. Leonard took the Best Evening Wear Prize, Delmeza the Best Swimwear category, while Jaynelle won best Public Presentation. Danielle Bretton won Most Photogenic and Shaunna Farley won Miss Congeniality.
The new pageant queen takes home a Toyota Vitz and a host of prizes. The others received cash prizes, as well as Blackberry phones, gift bags, and spa and pedicure gift certificates. Each participant received a plaque for participating.
