The Government of Montserrat on Monday signed the Montserrat Capital Investment Programme for Resilient Economic Growth (CIPREG) programme for £30m to support economic growth on Montserrat.
According to a release from the information unit, Premier Romeo had previously stated that the Budget Speech was delayed due to pending in the signing of not only the CIPREG but also the Financial Aid MOU. Both have now been agreed upon with the Department for International Development (DFID). The Financial Aid Memorandum of Understanding is expected to be signed in the next couple of days.
Providing this done, the budget session will now go ahead on the 15th of May where the premier will announce the details of the settlements for Financial Aid and the details of the five year CIPREG Programme.
