Jeffers, who is also Clerk of Councils with the Government, said the poems were written mainly to encourage, motivate, and help others to better appreciate themselves and their roles in life.
Judith confesses to having written the occasional poem from time to time but became more focused about her writing in 2002. Since then, she’s being writing as inspired or for special occasions.
“I am hoping that people will have a better sense of self and a deeper understanding of the fact that they are important to God in the overall scheme of things. It is in many ways an uplifting work which is likely to bring a level of release to persons who read it,” the new author explained.
“Be Released to Soar” is a handy sized book and makes a perfect gift. The project is published by Tate Publishing Company and Jeffers said the year-long process to bring the book to readers was quite eye opening.
“Prior to this experience I didn’t realize that the author was so intimately involved in the publishing process of a book,” the author recounted. “I am hoping to be able to publish some children picture books in the near future.”
The poet is also a gifted songwriter, composing tracks for the annual Song Fest competition at the church where she is the youth leader. In fact, the title of the poetry collection was inspired by a song she wrote called Be Released. Judith would also like to someday see a collection of her songs released as a companion to future poetry work.
