Royal Montserrat Police Service under review

BRADES, Montserrat – A three-man review team, lead by FCO Law Enforcement Adviser, Larry Covington is presently on island to undertake a comprehensive review of the Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS).
His Excellency the Governor Adrian Davis, with the approval of the Cabinet, agreed to invite an outside team to review the operations at the island’s police service following incidents that have led to internal reviews of officers.
The other members of the review team are Alwin James, Acting Deputy Commissioner from the British Virgin Island and Deputy Commissioner Tony Ennis from the Cayman Islands.
The review team will meet with a range of key persons with the purpose of making recommendations to support the RMPS by looking at the strategic, tactical and operational competencies of the police and delivery of the service.
A public version of the review team’s report will be made available in due course, says the Governor’s Office.
