Announcing the launch of the Montserrat Children’s Society Inc.

BRADES, Montserrat – On the 8th of February, a group of 15 volunteers from the general public, will be launching a new non-profit organization called the Montserrat Children’s Society. Our mission statement is “Children who have urgent needs may be assisted regardless of race, nationality, or disability.”

Securing the well-being of our children is often outside the scope of government provision. This means there are still many children whose needs are neglected and they, and their parents, often have no place to seek help. The society hopes to fill this gap and be their voice to raise awareness on the issues they face.

The Montserrat Children’s Society is planning the launch at the Hill Top Coffee Shop on the 8th of February 2013 at 5:00 pm. There will be a short presentation on Children’s issues in Montserrat and the Caribbean. Food and drink will be served.

Many thanks go out to the Governor’s Office, Red Cross, Mr. Karl Markham, the Methodist Church, Mr. Alvin Gerald, ZJB Radio and the Hill Top Coffee Shop for sponsoring and making the launch possible.
