St Lucia’s top female calypsonian on Emerald Vibes TV

BRADES, Montserrat – Menell Delices, Saint Lucia’s top female calypsonian is one of six women featured in Girl Talk, two special episodes of Emerald Vibes TV.

Hosted by Sharlene Lindsay, the two-part episode focuses on how Menell and other female performers are using calypso to highlight social and political issues. Menell talks about the challenges of being one of only a few female artists competing in the male-dominated arena and shares how music is helping her to influence change.

Menell recently placed third in the Regional Female Calypso Competition during the Annual Montserrat Festival. Highlights from her performances can be seen in the episode.
