BRADES – Garnett ‘Sylk’ Thompson, the second runner-up in the 2014 Calypso Monarch competition will represent Montserrat at the Saturday, August 8, 2015 Leeward Islands Calypso Competition on Anguilla.
Some residents expressed disappointment that the reigning monarch Keithroy ‘De Bear’ Morson has chosen to compete in the annual event for Antigua & Barbuda. Morson is already en route to Anguilla and says he plans to do his best no matter the flag he waves.
Morson won the Antigua Calypso Monarch crown on Sunday evening for the fourth time.
Thompson is no stranger to the calypso stage. He has been performing since the age of 15 and was the Montserrat Calypso Monarch in 2011.
