Seventh-Day Adventist Celebrates 100 Years on Montserrat Today

SDA-100The Seventh-day Adventist Community is celebrating its 100th Anniversary of Adventism on Montserrat today, November 17th, 2015  with a commemorative service in Salem.

According to Pastor Sherwin White, they will memorialize this landmark achievement, with a brief but meaningful Commemorative Service at the original site of the first Seventh-day Adventist Church on the Flemings Road, besides the home of Ms. Mary Lee.

At the completion of this event, everyone is invited to journey with them to the Seventh-day Adventist Church New Carmel to have a memorial service.

The Honourable Minister of Ecclesiastical Affairs Delmaude Ryan is scheduled to attend and address the gathering.

Additionally, there will be a week of activities carded for December 11th – 20th, 2015 as a part of the 100 years Celebration.

The events for the week are as follows:

Friday, December 11th, 2015 – Consecration Service (7:00 p.m.) New Carmel Seventh-day Adventist Church
Sabbath, December 12th, 2015 – Sabbath Celebration – Montserrat Cultural Centre (9:00 a.m.)
Sunday, December 13th, 2015 – Grand Opening Ceremony – Montserrat Cultural Centre (3:30p.m.)
Tuesday, December 15th, 2015 – Gospel Concert – Montserrat Cultural Centre (TBA)
Wednesday, December 16th, 2015 – Community Presentation – Montserrat Community College (TBA)
Thursday, December 17th, 2015 – Banquet and Honouring Ceremony – Montserrat Cultural Centre (TBA)
Sabbath, December 19th, 2015 – Sabbath Celebration – Montserrat Cultural Centre (9:00 a.m.)
Saturday, December 19th, 2015 – Cultural Social Program – TBA (8:00 pm.)
Sunday, December 20th, 2015 – Fun day and Recreational Activities – Salem Park (tentative) (10:00a.m.).

“It is our desire that through these programs and initiatives that the entire island will be made knowledgeable of the Seventh-day Adventist presence,” Pastor White said.
