David Thomson, General Manager of the Montserrat Utilities Limited (MUL) said they are working through the night to find a solution to the continued electrical power issues.
The South side was without power from noon until about 6PM. Thomson said the North side is now without power as they try to resolve the issue.
The entire island lost electricity shortly after 6AM on Monday morning, which was the result of a generator developing problems, they are still attempting to resolve.
Thomson declined to confirm what the next steps would be, stating they are working to find the best solution for providing power to the entire island.
Discover Montserrat has learned that the new power station is one of the options they are considering to get on stream, however it is still in the commissioning phase and undergoing tests.
No load shedding schedule has been released as the company is hoping they will resolve the matter speedily.
