Based on the latest marine forecast issued by the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services, the Disaster Management Coordination Agency (DMCA) is advising residents and visitors to avoid going to all beaches during this time of rough seas and dangerous coastal wave activity.
In a statement released Monday, the DMCA said they have “observed that the sea conditions continue to deteriorate considerably and high surfs have been pummeling the coastline with water spilling over on some roads, walkways and paths on the western coastline, which can be quite dangerous to persons on foot and even vehicular traffic.
“These large swells and high surfs are expected to continue until Friday, March 9th, 2018, hence, persons should stay away from all beaches until further notice.”
