Montserrat’s National Flower is the Red Heliconia

Well aren’t we embarrassed? You were right and we were wrong. We thought James Scriber Daley told us in an interview it was the yellow but it wasn’t. He has corrected us and told us that the 59% of you voted who voted for the Red Heliconia were right.
Only 41.2% of you voted for the yellow flower in last week’s Best of Montserrat poll.

We do apologise for the confusion.

While the red heliconia is probably very common closer to the roadside if you are ever driving through parts of Woodlands, you will find the yellow ones on the trails in the Centre Hillsimage.

Thank you for voting. Stay tuned for more Best of Montserrat polls.
