Take Back the Night

Tonight, Saturday May 28 from 6PM, residents will gather in Carr’s Bay to Take Back the Night.

ShirleyOsborneThe event is coordinated by Hon. Speaker Shirley Osborne through the Anulda Fenton Fund in an effort to bring awareness of the importance of women and girls to be safe anywhere they are on island.

The event is as a result of recent reports of violence against women in two different villages. In some of the incidents, reports were not made to the police.

Tonight’s event will be filled with music, poetry, reassurance, community, and connection, notes Osborne in her promotions.

Expected to be in attendance and speaking are Her Excellency, the Governor Elizabeth Carriere, Officials from the Royal Montserrat Police Services, Hon. Minister Paul Lewis, Hon. Ingrid Buffonge and Hon. Minister Claude Hogan.
Music to be provided by Kulcha Don and DJ Banga Dread starting at 6PM.
