Since 2001, the non-profit organisation has cooked and served more than 200,000 meals, for the elderly, poor and indigent on Montserrat. This year, they will serve more than 20,000 to the 60 homes currently receiving meals daily.
Oslyn Butler, who volunteers to deliver meals to the elderly in the South of Montserrat said it is a very gratifying task which she looks forward to each week. Butler and four others have formed a support team to help the charity acquire the basic supplies that it uses daily to serve the warm meals.
While the organisation receives a subvention from government, it depends on charitable donations to meet its annual budget.
The charity ball will be held on Tuesday, March 14 at Vue Point Hotel. Tickets are $50 and include snacks with a cash bar.
