Proposed Land Use For Woodlands Rezoning To Tourism Development

Town Hall Meeting on Ledonda Bay Project Postponed

The Physical Planning Unit (PPU) within the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, Lands, Housing and the Environment (MATLHE) is informing the public of the postponement of the Town Hall Meeting to discuss ‘The Montserrat Ledonda Bay Project’.

The town hall meeting was originally scheduled for 6:30p.m. on Wednesday, July 18 at the Salem Primary School. It was aimed at providing an opportunity for residents of Palm Loop, Woodlands, Olveston and surrounding areas, and Montserrat as a whole, to learn more about ‘The Montserrat Ledonda Bay Project’ and share their views on the development plan.

The town hall meeting was organised because the proposed development would require modifications to the ‘Physical Development Plan for North Montserrat 2012-2022’ to allow
for the rezoning of parts of Woodlands from recreation to tourism development.

The PPU said the Ledonda Development is being put on hold until further notice.

‘The Montserrat Ledonda Bay Project’, consists of high end condominium villa/resort hotel including facilities for recreation and cultural events, which will be designed to be a blend of
elegant, romantic, free, open and dynamic themes.
