The opening of St. Patrick’s Festival is a day away and we want to welcome everyone who has come home and those on their way to celebrate with us.

The official opening ceremony will be held in Salem and scheduled to begin at 8PM. This follows the tree lighting ceremony at Cudjoe Head at 6PM.

The MC for the opening ceremony is Joe West. The evening is to begin with the playing of the territorial song Motherland with prayer by Father Vyphuis of the Anglican Church.

Scheduled to give remarks throughout the evening are festival chairman David Duberry, the new director of tourism Warren Soloman and Deputy Premier Delmaude Ryan.

Entertainment will be provided by Acoustic Sounds, Brades Primary School, Montserrat Secondary School Performing Arts Group, Volpanics, Edgar Nkosi White and the Masquerades.

Salem Nights follows with music and food in the village. The event is free and offers fun for the entire family.
