According to the latest figures released by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), Montserrat’s tourism arrival figures have dipped compared to the same time in 2014.
The recently released figures show that there is 9.4% drop for the months of January and February from 1278 in 2014 to 1158 this year.
While arrivals from the US increased by 4.2% to 342 for the first two months of the year, visitors from Canada and Europe dropped to 183 (-12.4%) and 327 (-7.4%) respectively. Visitors from Other nations numbered 306.
The total arrivals in 2014 was 8804 which was a 22.2% increase over the previous year. It is hoped that March 2015 figures will show an increase compared to the 1077 people who visited last year, primarily in connection with the Annual St. Patrick’s Festival Week.
